During the past two week
s I have been working, with renewed energy, on perfume no. 3 for my Artisan Range. I am cautiously optimistic that I have resolved the issue with the "soapy smell" during the dry down process.
Perhaps the answer has been in front of me for weeks, admiring them every day waiting for them to reveal their full beauty, but still I didn't see them!
Maybe it is the gracious Lotus Flower that is going to make the heart note of this perfume sing!
As a dear friend often reminds me "all we have is forward" and, with this in mind, I have made some modifications to embrace this change of direction after all, an artistic process is just another journey with opportunities to turn right, left, or stand still!
You may remember that this scent was initially inspired by memories of an Orange Tree in Summer. It opens with a fresh, clean and vibrant top note of Orange, Mandarin and Petitgrain.
It then starts to reveal its more exotic personality, with Lotus Flower and an accent of Mango, before drying down into a warm and woody base note, reminding me of the heavenly scent inside my cedar greenhouse.

UPDATES
The Fresh Grapefruit Hand Sanitising Cologne is still with the safety assessor, and I anticipate making the first 100 x 50 ml refillable bottles during August. Once the bottles are legally labelled up, they will be ready, and I have started a wait list for my priority customers and e.news subscribers, before making it generally available on my website. Please drop me a line if you would like to be on this list.
(As a reminder, this product has a 68% alcohol base blended with a luxurious plant based derivative, to leave your hands fresh and clean without feeling sticky). I will share more about the refill service later.
BLEND OFF WORKSHOP - GIFT VOUCHERS
I am now taking bookings for my half day workshops, to take place on Monday and Friday mornings from September until mid December. Designed for two people at a time, it is an opportunity to learn some perfume tricks of the trade while experimenting with my perfumery materials. We shall work in my large, open plan room, with the doors opened out into the garden, on a fully expanded table, to ensure social distance is adhered to. Guests will have their own cloakroom facilities. All you will need to bring is a spark of an idea,for you to turn into a 50ml bottle of your unique perfume. Start time is flexible for people travelling. Gift Vouchers for the Blend Off Workshops will be available to buy from the week of 4th August and can be redeemed for one year after purchase, with dates to be arranged in 2021. (All bookings are subject to not being in a second lockdown, and in such an event, refunds will be made in full)
The workshop costs £65 per person, and £10 will be donated to William's Fund, a small family run charity dedicated to funding research into better diagnosis and prognosis of childhood cancers, thereby saving more young lives.
